Introduction
On the occasion of the Arte Povera exhibition, the Bourse de Commerce and MAGMA presented an exceptional performance by the 91-year old Arte Povera figure Michelangelo Pistoletto on October 16, 2024. He reenacted a 1966 performance piece in which he smashes a metric cube of mirror on stage, before a conversation with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, the exhibition’s curator.

Metrocubo d'infinito
In the Auditorium of the Bourse de Commerce, the artist presented a unique performance centered around the work Metrocubo d’infinito. This piece is part of the Oggetti in meno, which were displayed in his studio between December 1965 and January 1966. A neutral sculpture made of six inward-facing, bound mirrors, whose infinite reflections can only be imagined, Metrocubo d’infinito embodies Michelangelo Pistoletto’s exploration of the physical potential of mirrors and their mystical implications.
